  • Reverse Bidding

    GroundLink is in the process of introducing a reverse bidding service that we believe will significantly enhance the competitive environment of the ground travel industry. Using our GroundFleet Manger and API solutions as well as its driver mobile application, we will soon allow drivers and fleet operators to bid for pending jobs and list their excess inventory, enabling them to run a more productive and profitable business while providing the most value to their customers.

    The system works by transmitting service requests to all ground travel providers in certain geography via a mobile device or the Company's API. Each provider will receive the scheduled pick-up and drop-off information for the job. The provider will then input a bid price on the particular transaction depending on its level of availability and capacity. If the driver provides the winning bid, he or she would then be provided with detailed information regarding the job.

    This reverse bidding mechanism is expected to benefit all market participants. Fleet operators will increase their inventory utilization by putting more of their resources to work at optimal prices based on real time availability and demand information. Combined with mobile devices, this mechanism will enable drivers to communicate with the GroundLink system, confirm their availability and accept jobs instantly. Consumers will also benefit as this reverse bidding mechanism will reduce overall travel costs.
