GroundLink CEO Liz Carisone Interviewed on RMWorldTravel Podcast
This past weekend, RMWorldTravel spoke with GroundLink CEO Liz Carisone about GroundLink’s worldwide black car service on their 11/16/19 podcast, ‘RMWorldTravel Connection with Robert & Mary Carey and Rudy Maxa.’
For Liz’s segment, you may skip ahead to 12:15 on the podcast; however, we encourage you to listen to the full podcast, as there are essential travel tips shared; including travel safety, business/leisure travel best practices, upcoming events, and the latest happenings in the travel industry.
Here are a few highlights from Liz’s interview:
Q: GroundLink offers the black car industry’s only ON TIME EVERY TIME® Guarantee with drivers who are regularly screened, properly licensed, and fully insured. Could you explain the rest to everybody about who you are and what you offer?
CEO Liz Carisone: GroundLink offers an omnichannel platform, meaning not only do we offer mobile capabilities & an online presence, but we also have a 24/7 call center, so you’re never very far from a human voice. In addition, in several of our markets, we have gone to what we call a ’20-20;’ so ‘20 cities – 20-minute service.’ We also offer scheduled service in all markets, so you can book when and where you would like, and have full trackability; so you can download our app and track who your driver is, when he/she has started their route, and ensure your or your significant other’s safety.
Q: I see that you provide ground transportation in over 460 cities across North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Can we expect the same level of service that you provide in NYC, in other parts of the world?
CEO Liz Carisone: In our larger markets, you’re going to get quicker service. In our tertiary markets like Africa, you’ll need to book ground travel further in advance. We have an affiliate network that is systematically connected, so, 99% of the time, you’re going to get a consistent experience whether you’re in Bali or San Francisco. You will have all of the same information & ride trackability, as well.
Q: How do you differentiate yourself from your competitors?
CEO Liz Carisone: First, we have a fully vetted fleet of vehicles. Second, we take traveler security and privacy very seriously. We have several features within our app that allow our passengers to feel secure, and we don’t share your personal data with anyone. Privacy of data and traveler safety is extremely important.
Q: I’d like to discuss your fleet. Clearly, you’re not just serving individual travelers, but you’re also able to accommodate group travelers, companies, athletic teams, etc. It’s evident that your SUV/sedan service is your bread-and-butter, but how much of your business incorporates these other larger vehicles like your motorcoaches/vans/buses?
CEO Liz Carisone: One of the features that we launched this year within Brio, our corporate travel management platform, is our Events feature, which allows travel arrangers to book & manage event transportation for large groups. Our Events business is growing very rapidly.
