New York City’s Cyclists Safety Plan

After the death of 17 bicyclists, the city will be reinforcing laws and will be cracking down on dangerous driving. TLC Drivers have been recommended to be careful when opening their doors on incoming bikes. To avoid any future accidents, we highly recommend that drivers open the doors for customers.

Here are some programs that drivers should be aware of:

  1. Protected bike lanes with or without barriers.
  2. “Green Wave” to synchronize the traffic lights to allow motorists and bikers to have more traffic light than Drivers currently have.
  3. Plenty of NYPD on the lookout for traffic violators that fail to yield for bikers and pedestrians.
