Summer Bleisure Destinations for the Adventurous Business Traveler

If you feel the summer season goes too quickly and you’re not getting a chance to enjoy it, consider combining a work trip with a mini vacation—popularly called “bleisure.”  Statistics show more workers are taking part in the “bleisure” phenomenon, enabling them to optimize vacation time by tacking on one or two days to the end of a business trip, and to save on travel expenses.

All Work and No Play….

Worried your employer may bristle at the idea? According to a survey by the Bridgestreet Global Hospitality research firm, the majority (78 percent) of employees interviewed stated that by adding on a few personal days to a business trip, the professional assignment became more rewarding. With many companies struggling to find and keep top talent, allowing employees to extend their trips for some needed R&R is a win-win if it boosts morale, which could lead to fewer turnovers and greater loyalty.
